Object Zipper

By Robin Collier

Overview

This program takes one or more objects (.bin files), finds all the required textures, and zips them up. Perfect for sharing your objects with others, or getting some from another FM (remember to get permission for the latter scenario).

Requirements

Installation

Simply extract these files to any folder and run the .exe.

User Account Control

If you use Windows Vista and above, and you have UAC enabled, this program may occasionally ask for higher privileges. You will be prompted under the following circumstances:

Using the Program

Click on Select Object(s) to choose which bin files you want to zip up. You can select any number of objects, from both your obj and mesh folders. When a mesh is selected, the program will also find the .cal file, if there is one.

The location of zipped files is shown at the top of the window. You can change it by clicking on the Browse button.

Objects you've selected will be shown in a list. You can remove selected objects or clear the list entirely.

Store objects in single file? - By default each object is put into its own zip file, named after the .bin file. You can have the program put all files in one .zip file (named objects followed by the date and time).

Click on Zip Object(s) to begin the process.

The program will look for textures in the txt16 or txt subfolder for object's obj or mesh folder. Any missing textures will be listed on the right, along with the .bin filename. The program does not report textures that are in obj.crf or mesh.crf.

Open Zip Folder allows easy access to the files you've created.
